Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

ARCHITECTURE – Architecture, Theory and Design

This section focuses on architectural theory, design methodologies, and creative practices. It welcomes contributions exploring conceptual approaches, design innovation, historical and critical perspectives, as well as experimental and interdisciplinary design processes in architecture.

ARCHITECTURE – Heritage, Memory and Conservation

This section addresses architectural and urban heritage, conservation strategies, cultural memory, and restoration practices. It includes research on adaptive reuse, heritage valorisation, preservation policies, and the transmission of tangible and intangible heritage.

ARCHITECTURE – Atmospheres, Senses and Lived Experience Abbreviation

This section explores the sensory, experiential, and phenomenological dimensions of architecture. It focuses on spatial perception, atmospheres, human experience of built environments, and the relationship between body, space, and emotion.

ARCHITECTURE – Climate, Sustainability and Resilience

This section deals with sustainable architecture, climate-responsive design, and resilient built environments. Topics include ecological transitions, energy efficiency, circular design strategies, climate adaptation, and environmental performance of buildings and cities.

ARCHITECTURE – Digital Heritage, AI and Emerging Technologies

This section focuses on digital transformation in architecture and heritage studies. It includes BIM, GIS, AI, digital twins, parametric design, virtual/augmented reality, and computational approaches to design, analysis, and documentation.

ARCHITECTURE – Cities, Territories and Social Transformations

This section examines urban and territorial dynamics, focusing on cities, spatial planning, governance, and social change. It includes research on urban transformations, mobility, spatial justice, public space, and socio-spatial inequalities.

URBANISM – Urban Governance

This section focuses on urban governance systems, institutional frameworks, and decision-making processes shaping cities. It includes research on multi-level governance, public administration, stakeholder coordination, and urban management strategies.

URBANISM – Urban Policies and Stakeholders

This section examines urban policies, planning instruments, and the role of actors involved in urban development. It includes studies on public and private stakeholders, participatory planning, policy evaluation, and urban regulatory frameworks.

URBANISM – Housing

This section addresses housing systems, residential environments, and habitat production. It covers issues such as housing policies, informal settlements, social housing, spatial inequalities, and contemporary transformations of living environments.

URBANISM – Sustainable Urbanism and Resilience

This section focuses on sustainable urban development, climate adaptation, and urban resilience. Topics include ecological transition, energy-efficient cities, risk management, climate-sensitive planning, and resilient urban systems.

URBANISM – Inclusive City and Right to the City

This section explores social inclusion, equity, and spatial justice in urban contexts. It includes research on the right to the city, accessibility, gendered and social inequalities, participatory urbanism, and inclusive urban policies.

URBANISM – Urban Mobility

This section focuses on urban mobility systems and transportation planning. It includes research on public transport, active mobility, infrastructure systems, accessibility, logistics, and sustainable mobility transitions in cities.

LANGUAGE – Linguistics, Literature and Translation

This section focuses on language studies, linguistics, literary analysis, and translation studies. It includes theoretical and applied research on language structure, discourse analysis, comparative literature, translation practices, and intercultural communication.

SOCIETY – History, Civilizations and Heritage

This section explores historical studies, civilizations, and cultural heritage. It includes research on social and cultural history, collective memory, heritage studies, and the evolution of societies across time and space.

DIGITAL AGE – Artificial Intelligence, Digital Corpora and Cultural Data Analysis

This section focuses on digital humanities and computational approaches to culture and knowledge. It includes artificial intelligence applications, digital corpora, text and cultural data analysis, big data methodologies, and emerging digital research infrastructures in humanities and social sciences.
